Construction Process

Step 1 Wide plank maple hot off the planer. Cherry trim waits in the background.

Step 2 This is the gluing phase. Three boards are made into one, the bond created is actually stronger than the wood itself.

Step 3 Yes, those are wood chips flying!

Step 4 Scraping the top prior to final sanding.

Step 5 The initial coats of our custom 6 coat mineral oil/beeswax finish have been applied which allows direct cutting. All oils and waxes used in this process are completely food safe.

Step 6 The finished product! Cherry trim and back splash compliments Cherry cabinets while the Hard Maple provides function and beauty.
